Aspetuck Brew Lab

THE SCIENCE OF BEER

PROBLEM

Aspetuck Brew Lab wanted to make the move from taproom sales to canning and distribution. How should they present their brand in order to attract distribution as well as craft beer aficionados with in the crowded Connecticut craft beer market?

INSIGHT

After sitting down and discussing their needs, conducting a brand audit and reviewing the brewery, we worked on developing a look and system that would leverage the scientific “lab” nature of the brand.

SOLUTION

We needed to cut through the visual noise of an increasingly competitive marketplace and attract the desired audience. We did so by developing a clean, modern, flexible and beautiful brand architecture and look.

Original labels

LABELS

Aspetuck Brew Lab initially decided to create their own labels to rush out a release of beer that was in need of canning. Given that the brewery had existing branding, this needed to be incorporated into the new design.  A much cleaner direction was designed to tie into the lab aesthetic as well as their taproom modern decor.

For the labels we developed simple, flexible system that allowed the art to be changed out very quickly as needed. This helped support the needs of a brewery that was quickly establishing itself in the Connecticut craft beer market.
